Wie denkt dat John Legend zijn laatste hit 'All Of Me' niet kan overtreffen heeft het mis! Om All Of Me kun je inmiddels niet meer heen, omdat het nummer wordt grijsgedraaid in winkels en op de radio. Door die overkill ben je misschien wel toe aan iets nieuws. John Legend weet vaak de gevoelige snaar te raken met zijn nummers. All Of Me is meteen een hit en de verwachtingen zijn daarom hooggespannen voor zijn nieuwste song. Weet John Legend All Of Me te evenaren? Wij denken van wel!
De zanger weet zelf waarschijnlijk ook dat hij heel wat uit de kast moet halen om een hit te produceren die het net zo goed doet als zijn laatste. Wie daar twijfels over heeft moet vooral het nieuwste nummer You & I (Nobody In The World) bekijken en beluisteren, want het is een goede! Huffington Post noemt het hartbrekend én hartverwarmend en we moeten toegeven dat we stiekem een tissue nodig hebben als we de videoclip zien.
John Legend brengt in ieder geval zijn A game. De lyrics doen iedere vrouw goed en in de videoclip zie je onder andere zijn vrouw en model Chrissy Teigen én transgender celebrity Laverne Cox die je kent van Orange Is The New Black. Verder zie je verdrietige meisjes en vrouwen die onzeker zijn over hun looks, terwijl John Legend zingt 'You fix your make up, just so… Guess you don't know, that you are beautiful'. Daarnaast is de videoclip confronterend en voor sommigen misschien shockerend, want je ziet onder andere een zieke vrouw die haar pruik afzet en een vrouw waarvan haar borst geamputeerd is.
